MCA- Master of Computer Application

The MCA at Balsore College of Engineering & Technology was started in 2009 with an aim to generate quality software professionals, who will be able to design, diversified application software rather than designing computer hardware and system software. MCA programme focuses on providing sound theoretical knowledge as well as group practical exposure to students in the area of computer applications. It is intended to provide a modern, industry oriented education in applied computer science.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1: To enhance foundation of mathematics, computer application and problem solving methodology for effective implementation in the area of s/w development.
  • PEO 2: To effectively design, implement, improve, and manage the integrated socio-technical systems.
  • PEO 3: To inculcate effective communication skills combined with professional & ethical attitude.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO 1: Understand the concepts and application in the field of Computing Sciences like Web designing & development, mobile application development and Network & Communication technologies.
  • PSO 2: Ability to test & analyze the quality of various sub-systems and to integrate them in order to evolve a larger computing system.
  • PSO 3: Understand the standard practices and techniques in software development.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

  • PO 1: COMPUTATIONAL KNOWLEDGE: Acquire knowledge of Computing Fundamentals, Basic Mathematics, Computing Specialization and Domain Knowledge of proper computing models from defined problems.
  • PO 2: PROBLEM ANALYSIS: Identify, formulate review research literate and analyze complex engineering problems reading substantiated conclusions using first principles mathematics, computing science and relevant domains.
  • PO 3: DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTIONS: Ability to design system s/w or process as per needs and specifications.
  • PO 4: CONDUCT INVESTIGATIONS OF COMPLEX PROBLEMS: : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis & interpretation of data & synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5: MODERN TOOLS USAGE: Ability to demonstrate skills to use modern s/w & h/w tools to analyze problems.
  • PO 6: PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and cyber regulations.

This is an exciting time for computer engineers. Much of this excitement is due to the dramatic pace at which the industry is growing. Well-qualified IT professionals are in great demand both in India and abroad. Major IT companies are on a talent hunting spree. They are hiring more engineers now than they have in the past five years or so. The need for IT engineers is growing exponentially and is likely to grow in the future considering the advancements and pace of growth of this sector.
